A Great Tree (Parota)

Parota

The parota is one of the largest native trees of Mexico, has huge trunks and in only 2 years may be giving shade, excellent for pastures, parks, plazas and its fruit is edible.
The fruit is a circular pod, 7-15 cm in diameter, flattened and twisted, woody, dark brown, bright, sweet taste, contains five (5) 10-15 (20) seeds, which can be boiled greens, or roasted to eat.
Its branches make the perfect spot to enjoy with family and friends a good meal under the leafy shade, tells my husband, who is originally from Michoacan Mexico, where the big tree is seen in the broad fields of this beautiful state of Mexico.
